 THE THINGS RELEASES

The Things debut |  7" EP
“One of the best rock and roll shows we’ve seen in an aeon. But we’re not talking Oasis-style rock and roll, we’re talking dirty, sleazy I wanna fuck your mother type rock.” BELFAST TELEGRAPH

In just over two years together, The Things have been bringing their brand of sleazy rock'n'roll to a much larger scale audience. After finishing out a successful 2004 by securing both European and US management deals to the same homes as the likes of Peaches, Chris Corner (Sneaker Pimps), Vincent Gallo, Electrocute, and Kill City, The Things have had a busy eight-month so far in 2005. This year saw the boys start the year with a successful trip to the SXSW music convention in Austin, Texas, attracting the attention of many labels and a top UK producer.

While back here in Dublin sell-out shows with the likes of the Hives and Jacques le Cont have been given critical acclaim, The Things could have been seen in both home and abroad playing alongside the likes of The Rapture, Thin Lizzy, The Damned, The Raveonettes, The Fall, SLF, British Sea Power, The Warlocks, Babyshambles, The Cribs, The Rakes, Har Mar Superstar and Peaches to name a few.

The band's self recorded and produced debut 7" EP "Psycho Sound" is out on US indie label Big Neck Records. Also, you can look for their tracks on "Get out of my garage punks" compilation, Illbilly Records US, and "this fucking town" compilation on 24Records UK.

With some studio time planned with producer Leo Pearson (U2 & Elvis Costello), a UK and Scandinavian support tour and a trip to this years Popkomm music convention in Berlin this September. Things are starting to look up.
